Redhill Multi-purpose Audio solution
2012-05-18
Redhill School situated in Bryanston, Sandton recently appointed Surgesound to design, and provide an audio solution for their newly opened multifunction hall. The hall has been built to cater for the fast expanding school curriculum, and extramural activities. The specifications given to Surgesound was to design a system capable of handling anything from indoor sports activities, school assemblies, theatre and musical performances. The FBT Mitus system was chosen as a high performance, yet functional solution for the halls requirements. The Mitus system is an active Line-array that houses on-board DSP, and amplification. Two Mitus 212FSA dual 12" flown Subs, and six Mitus 206LA Line-array modules were specified per side. The Mitus 206LA allowed for maximum coverage with a small loudspeaker enclosure footprint, and sufficient SPL to allow for a small band setup. A major focus with the system design was speech intelligibilty which was achieved throughout the venue. The installation includes Wireless microphone systems as well as 16 channels of analogue audio on a Van-Damme Multi-pair stage box. Van-Damme cabling was used to ensure consistent audio quility and long lasting reliability.
