The 18 Sound 8MB710 is a lightweight variant of 18 Sound’s highest-sensitivity 8-inch ferrite mid-bass platform. It delivers the same 99.5 dB sensitivity, the same 0.11 mH inductance, the same 13.4 Tm force factor, and the same 18 g moving mass as the 8MB720 — every acoustic, electrical, and T/S specification is shared between the two models. The difference is weight: the 18 Sound 8MB710 weighs 4.2 kg, 400 g lighter than the 8MB720’s 4.6 kg, from a modified chassis construction that reduces the structural mass without affecting the motor, coil, cone, or acoustic performance.

The ISV places conductor on both inner and outer surfaces of the former, creating the mass-balanced coil that produces the 0.11 mH inductance without SDR or copper ring — the same near-record figure achieved purely through the ISV coil’s symmetrical winding and ferrite motor geometry.

The 13.4 Tm force factor from the ferrite magnetic circuit is identical. The same magnetic structure concentrates the same flux in the same gap, producing the same motor force. The 18 g moving mass is unchanged — the same curvilinear cone, the same triple roll surround, the same 2.25 mm Xmax with 3.0 mm Xvar.
