Formidable Blaze by Sonance PowerZone Connect 1502 – 1500W 2-Channel DSP Amplifier for High-Output Dual-Zone Installations

The Blaze by Sonance PowerZone Connect 1502 is a 1500W DSP-enabled Class-D amplifier that concentrates serious output power into two channels within a full-rack 2RU chassis. With 750W per channel in Lo-Z mode and a bridgeable 1500W single channel in BTL, it delivers the same per-channel headroom as the 4-channel 3004 — but focused on two high-power zones or a single massive distributed speaker line. When your project needs raw amplification muscle rather than a high channel count, the 1502 is the tool for the job.

Powered by Pascal UMAC™ Class-D technology with the full PowerZone™ Control web app built in, the PowerZone Connect 1502 provides hybrid Lo-Z/Hi-Z operation down to 2Ω, automatic power-sharing, and comprehensive full-matrix DSP. For integrators across Africa working on dedicated subwoofer channels, high-output foreground music zones, large-format PA feeds, or long-run 70V/100V distributed lines requiring a kilowatt or more, the 1502 puts that power into just two channels at a lower price point than the four- and eight-channel models.

Design and Construction of the Blaze by Sonance PowerZone Connect 1502

The PowerZone Connect 1502 uses the same full-width 2RU chassis as the rest of the 2U series — 88 × 440 × 332 mm (3.5″ × 17.3″ × 13.1″). Despite delivering only two output channels, the 2U form factor provides the thermal headroom and power supply capacity needed to sustain 750W per channel continuously into demanding low-impedance loads.

The output stage runs on Pascal’s UMAC™ Class-D platform — a full-bandwidth PWM modulator engineered for ultra-low distortion. Like all 2U models, the 1502 supports loads down to 2Ω in single-ended mode and offers bridge-tied load (BTL) operation that combines both channels into a single output for doubled voltage swing and maximum power delivery. The UREC™ universal mains switch-mode power supply features Power Factor Correction (PFC) and an integral standby converter, accepting 100–240V AC at 50–60 Hz.

Comprehensive protection circuits guard against short circuit, DC fault, under-voltage, thermal runaway, and overload conditions. The unit is UL listed, ErP and Energy Star compliant, and includes an integrated wireless access point (WAP) for cable-free commissioning via Wi-Fi. All of this is backed by Blaze’s standard five-year warranty.

Performance and Applications for the PowerZone Connect 1502

In single-ended Lo-Z mode, each of the two channels delivers 750W into 2Ω or 4Ω loads. That is the same per-channel figure as the 3004 — enough to drive high-output full-range cabinets, large column arrays, or dedicated subwoofer enclosures at levels suitable for foreground music, live speech reinforcement, or performance sound in mid-to-large venues.

Bridge the two channels into a single BTL output and the 1502 delivers 1500W into 4Ω or 8Ω. In Hi-Z mode, that same bridged output pushes 1500W into a 70V or 100V distributed speaker line — a substantial amount of power for driving extensive constant-voltage networks across large venues, multiple building floors, or campus-wide paging infrastructure.

The built-in PowerZone™ Control web app provides the same full-matrix DSP as every other PowerZone Connect model: multizone routing, input mixing, priority and ducking for paging, restriction, parametric EQ on inputs and outputs, high-pass filtering, speaker presets, delay, sine generator, Wall-S1 controller configuration, and Master/Slave S/PDIF linking for cascading multiple amplifiers. Access it from any browser via the built-in Wi-Fi or the RJ45 network port.

Audio performance is consistent with the 2U family: signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 106 dB (A-weighted), THD+N stays below 0.05%, and frequency response holds within +0/−0.25 dB across 20 Hz – 20 kHz into an 8Ω load. Typical applications include dedicated subwoofer amplification for large venues, high-output stereo foreground music zones, single-zone high-power distributed audio lines in shopping malls and airports, PA feeds for auditoriums and performance spaces, and any installation where two channels of 750W — or one channel of 1500W — is the precise requirement.

Conclusion

The Blaze by Sonance PowerZone Connect 1502 concentrates the 2U series’ highest per-channel power into a focused two-channel format. With 750W per channel in Lo-Z, 2Ω drive capability, and a bridgeable 1500W single output for BTL or Hi-Z operation, it is purpose-built for installations that need maximum output from the fewest channels — dedicated subwoofer drives, high-power stereo zones, or single-line 70V/100V distributed audio networks with heavy speaker loading.

For integrators across Africa, the 1502 fits naturally alongside multi-channel 2U models in the same rack. Pair it with a 3004 or 2004 for a mixed build — the 1502 handles the subwoofer or high-power foreground channel while the multi-channel model covers the remaining zones. It shares the same chassis, DSP platform, PowerZone™ Control web app, and five-year warranty, so your commissioning workflow stays consistent across every amplifier in the system. Combined with Blaze Ci, CBL, or CCA Series loudspeakers — or any compatible 2Ω–16Ω and 70V/100V speakers — the 1502 provides the concentrated power that demanding installations require.
