Overview
The RAM Audio DALIM 14Q is a 4-channel, 14,000W total output touring amplifier built for the demands of professional live sound reinforcement. It is the right amplifier for rental companies, touring engineers, and production companies who need a high-output, road-worthy unit that performs reliably night after night under real working conditions.
The DALIM 14Q includes RAM Audio’s 64-bit double-precision 96kHz FIR DSP with a large IPS capacitive touch display. This is the same processing platform used across the DENEB installation range, now in a touring-grade chassis designed for the physical demands of live sound: Neutrik® XLR and Speakon® connectors, Neutrik® PowerCon mains, and an enclosure built to withstand road use.
Power and Output Capability
The DALIM 14Q delivers 14,000W total output with all four channels driven at 3,500W each. RAM Audio’s PCM™ power management redistributes the total output budget dynamically — when other channels are idle, the available power concentrates into the active channel. Bridge mode is not available on the DALIM 14Q.
Low-impedance operation covers 2, 4, and 8 ohm loads. High-impedance operation supports 35V, 50V, 70V, and 100V distributed lines, configurable through the DSP. The DALIM 14Q handles both roles on the same chassis, which simplifies logistics and stock management for rental operations running mixed system configurations.
On-Board FIR DSP
The processor provides full channel management: 36-filter per-channel input EQ, FIR and IIR crossover filters up to 48 dB/oct, per-channel output delay up to 31 metres, RMS and Peak limiting, and full routing flexibility. The preset library supports 100 manufacturer presets and 20 user presets. For multi-amplifier touring systems, dual Ethernet ports support daisy-chain connection across multiple DALIM units with centralised control via RAM_OCS software. Smaart® integration is supported.
Professional Protection Suite
The DALIM 14Q carries the full RAM Audio protection suite: soft-start, turn-on and turn-off transient muting, thermal protection, DC output protection, RF interference protection, short-circuit protection, open or mismatched load detection, and power supply overload protection. ICL™ intelligent clip limiting and PCM™ power management operate continuously in real time. GPIO is not available on the DALIM 14Q. At 14,000W total output, the cost of a protection-related shutdown mid-show is significant — the DALIM 14Q is designed to keep running through conditions that would trigger lesser amplifiers.
DALIM 14Q – Touring Design and Connectivity
Neutrik® XLR and Speakon® connectors are standard. The mains connector is Neutrik® PowerCon in the 32A version. The inverted chassis design keeps fan intakes clear of dust; the removable foam filter simplifies maintenance on the road. Temperature-controlled front-to-rear cooling runs quietly enough for monitor and FOH racks.
Optional Dante™ and AES67 (ATMOS and RAVENNA compatible) digital inputs are factory-available, along with AES3 (AES/EBU) digital input. GPIO modules are available for the 5Q and 10Q models only — not available on the 14Q and 20Q.
