That distinction matters in practice: Phoenix connectors throughout, support for both low-impedance and high-impedance (70V/100V) distributed audio lines on the same unit, and a mounting depth and chassis design suited to equipment racks that do not get swapped out between shows.
Power and Load Flexibility
The DENEB 2.5Q delivers 2,500W total output across four channels, with each channel rated at 625W when all four channels are driven simultaneously. RAM Audio’s Power Control Management system (PCM™) dynamically manages the amplifier’s total power budget across channels, which means the DENEB 2.5Q can direct up to 1,250W into a single channel when the other channels are idle — useful in asymmetric zoned systems where one zone carries the bulk of the load.
Low-impedance operation covers 2, 4, and 8 ohm loads. High-impedance operation covers 35V, 50V, 70V, and 100V distributed audio lines — all switchable through DSP configuration. Bridge mode enables the DENEB 2.5Q to run as a 2-channel bridged amplifier delivering 2× 1,250W. This makes the DENEB 2.5Q one of the more versatile mid-power installation amplifiers available: one unit can cover low-Z point-source speakers, 100V line distributed runs, or bridged subwoofer duty within the same installation.
On-Board FIR DSP
The DENEB 2.5Q includes RAM Audio’s 64-bit double-precision 96kHz FIR DSP as standard — not as an optional add-on. The processor is controlled via a large IPS capacitive touch display on the front panel, or remotely via Ethernet or USB using RAM Audio’s RAM_OCS control software. Either path gives full access to the same processing depth: 36 input EQ filters per channel, FIR and IIR crossover filters up to 48 dB/oct, per-channel output delay, and RMS and Peak limiting.
This processing depth is meaningful in installation contexts because it eliminates the need for a separate DSP unit in most scenarios. The DENEB 2.5Q can handle loudspeaker alignment, crossover work, zone EQ, and drive level management all from within the amplifier. The preset library supports 100 manufacturer presets and 20 user presets, with snapshot management for recalling full system states quickly. Smaart® integration is supported for live acoustic measurement workflows.
Professional Protection Suite
The DENEB 2.5Q is equipped with the full RAM Audio protection suite: soft-start, turn-on and turn-off transient muting, over-heating protection, DC output protection, RF interference protection, short-circuit protection, open or mismatched load detection, and overload protection on the power supply. ICL™ (Intelligent Clip Limiting) manages clip events in real time, and PCM™ handles power supply overload conditions dynamically rather than shutting the amplifier down. Together these systems mean the DENEB 2.5Q keeps running in real-world conditions where cheaper amplifiers would go into protection.
DENEB 2.5Q – Installation Design and Connectivity
The DENEB 2.5Q uses Phoenix connectors for both signal inputs and speaker outputs — the standard for professional fixed installation. The chassis uses an inverted (upside-down) internal design that positions the fan intake away from the base of the rack, reducing dust accumulation on the intake filter. A removable foam dust filter is included, which simplifies maintenance in installations where racks are not serviced frequently.
Optional modules extend the DENEB 2.5Q’s connectivity: Dante™ network audio, AES67 (ATMOS and RAVENNA compatible) digital input, AES3 (AES/EBU) digital input, and GPIO for integration with third-party control systems such as Crestron, AMX, or Q-SYS. These options can be combined and are factory-fitted.
The DENEB 2.5Q occupies 2U of rack space and weighs 7 kg, making it manageable in standard 19-inch equipment racks. At 230V AC idle draw of 85W, thermal load on the installation environment is low relative to its output capability.
