The 18 Sound 12NCX910BE is the beryllium-equipped pinnacle of 18 Sound’s 12-inch coaxial range. It shares every LF specification with the titanium 12NCX910 — the same 99.5 dB sensitivity, the same 450 W AES power handling, the same 75 mm ISV copper coil, the same SDR distortion reduction, the same 6.9 mm Xmax. The HF section uses the same 75 mm EWAL coil and delivers the same 108 dB sensitivity. The difference is the diaphragm: a pure beryllium dome with plastic suspension that replaces the 12NCX910’s titanium.

Beryllium is the ultimate compression driver diaphragm material. The LF section uses the identical 75 mm (3-inch) copper ISV voice coil found on the 12NCX910. The ISV architecture places conductor on both inner and outer surfaces of the former, creating the mass-balanced coil that delivers linear motor behaviour. The copper winding sustains the 450 W AES / 900 W program power rating. The aluminium SDR demodulating ring reduces flux modulation during excursion, keeping harmonic distortion low at higher power levels.
