B&C 15NA100 – Superior 15-Inch Neodymium Woofer with High-Power 4-Inch Voice Coil

The B&C 15NA100 steps up to a 100 mm voice coil — the largest coil diameter in B&C’s neodymium 15-inch woofer range — and brings everything that comes with it: 800 W AES power handling, 10 mm of linear excursion, and a 26.3 Tm force factor that keeps the 136 g moving mass under firm motor control. Where B&C’s 76 mm and 88 mm coil drivers prioritise sensitivity and minimum weight, the B&C 15NA100 adds serious thermal capacity and displacement capability without abandoning the efficiency and low-distortion performance that neodymium motors make possible.

The feature set reads like B&C’s premium catalogue: FEA-optimised neodymium magnet assembly, aluminium demodulating ring, ventilated voice coil gap, double silicone spider, and T-pole motor geometry. At 8.6 kg, the B&C 15NA100 is heavier than the lightweight neo 15s — but that weight buys you a driver that handles twice the power of the NDL76 and produces 10 mm of clean linear excursion that the 76 mm coil drivers can’t match.

With 98 dB sensitivity across a 45 Hz – 2000 Hz bandwidth and a Qts of 0.28 that favours vented and horn-loaded designs, the B&C 15NA100 is built for applications where the 15-inch woofer needs to handle real power and move real air — not just be loud at low power levels, but stay loud, clean, and controlled when the amplifier is delivering everything it has.

Design and Construction of the B&C 15NA100

The B&C 15NA100 uses a 100 mm (4-inch) aluminium voice coil wound on a glass fibre former. The step from 76 mm or 88 mm to a full 4-inch coil is significant — the larger coil diameter provides more surface area for heat dissipation, which is the primary reason the B&C 15NA100 handles 800 W AES compared to 500–700 W on the smaller-coil neo 15s. The 23 mm winding depth operating in an 11 mm magnetic gap yields 10 mm of linear one-way excursion (Xmax) with an additional 9 mm of travel (Xvar) before mechanical limits.

The motor uses an FEA-optimised neodymium inside-slug magnet in a T-pole configuration, producing 1.2 T of flux density and a force factor (Bl) of 26.3 Tm. FEA (Finite Element Analysis) optimisation means the magnetic circuit was computationally modelled to maximise flux concentration in the voice coil gap — extracting maximum motor performance from every gram of neodymium. The 26.3 Tm Bl is the highest of any neodymium 15-inch woofer in B&C’s range, giving the motor commanding authority over the 136 g moving mass.

An aluminium demodulating ring reduces flux modulation in the voice coil gap, keeping harmonic and intermodulation distortion low as excursion and power increase. A ventilated voice coil gap allows air circulation around the coil, reducing power compression during sustained high-power operation. Suspension is handled by a double silicone spider with optimised compliance and a triple-roll surround.

The exponential cone features WP waterproof treatment on the front side. At 8.6 kg and 180 mm deep, the B&C 15NA100 is the heaviest neodymium 15-inch woofer in B&C’s range — the larger coil and stronger motor assembly account for the added mass. The standard 393 mm overall diameter and 354 mm baffle cutout match B&C’s full-frame 15-inch mounting pattern.

Performance and Applications for the B&C 15NA100

The B&C 15NA100 delivers 98 dB sensitivity and 2.9% reference efficiency across a 45 Hz – 2000 Hz bandwidth. The sensitivity is 1 dB lower than the NDL88 and NDL76, but the trade-off is clear — you gain 10 mm of Xmax (vs 7–8 mm), 800 W of AES power handling (vs 500–700 W), and the strongest force factor in the neo 15-inch range (26.3 Tm vs 20–25.5 Tm). When you need a 15-inch woofer that handles sustained high power and produces clean output at high excursion levels, sensitivity per watt becomes less important than total output capacity — and the B&C 15NA100 has more of that than any other neo 15 in the lineup.

The Thiele–Small parameters define a vented and horn-loaded enclosure driver. A Qts of 0.28 and an EBP of 162 Hz leave no ambiguity about alignment — this driver wants a tuned cabinet. B&C recommends a compact 80-litre (2.82 ft³) vented enclosure tuned to 50 Hz — the smallest recommended enclosure of any 15-inch driver in B&C’s range. That compact volume makes the B&C 15NA100 ideal for tight touring cabinets, two-way tops with limited internal space, and horn-loaded designs where throat volume is constrained.

The combination of 10 mm Xmax and 855 cm² Sd gives the B&C 15NA100 displacement capability that rivals some 18-inch woofers in the lighter-duty ferrite range. For builders designing high-output two-way systems where the 15-inch woofer carries the bass section alone without a dedicated sub, this driver’s excursion and power handling provide the headroom that smaller-coil 15s simply can’t deliver.

Ideal applications for the B&C 15NA100 include:

  • High-power two-way tops where the 15-inch handles full bass duties
  • Compact vented and horn-loaded cabinets exploiting the 80-litre enclosure recommendation
  • Touring speaker systems requiring sustained high-power operation with low distortion
  • Line array modules needing more power handling than 76 mm or 88 mm coil drivers provide
  • Multi-driver configurations using 8 Ω parallel pairs for 4 Ω loading

Conclusion – B&C 15NA100 Woofer

The B&C 15NA100 is the highest-power, highest-excursion neodymium 15-inch woofer in B&C’s range. The step up to a 4-inch voice coil changes what this driver can do compared to the 76 mm and 88 mm alternatives — 800 W AES, 10 mm of Xmax, and 26.3 Tm of force factor give it thermal headroom, displacement, and motor authority that the lighter-coil drivers can’t match. When the gig demands sustained high power from a 15-inch woofer, the B&C 15NA100 is the neodymium driver that handles it.

The 80-litre recommended enclosure is the most compact of any 15-inch driver in the B&C range, which makes the B&C 15NA100 ideal for space-constrained cabinet designs where internal volume is at a premium. Combined with the FEA-optimised motor, demodulating ring, and ventilated gap, you get a driver that’s been engineered at every level to extract maximum performance from minimum space and weight.

For high-power two-way tops, compact touring cabinets, and any application where a 15-inch woofer needs to deliver the excursion and power handling of a larger format without the size or weight, the B&C 15NA100 is the neodymium 15-inch that closes the capability gap. It’s the 4-inch coil neo woofer that B&C designed for builders who’ve outgrown 76 mm and 88 mm limitations.
