Precision Blaze by Sonance PowerZone Connect 2004D – 2000W 4-Channel Dante DSP Amplifier for Mid-to-Large Commercial Installations
The Blaze by Sonance PowerZone Connect 2004D is a 2000W DSP-enabled Class-D amplifier with four high-current output channels and integrated Audinate Dante™ audio-over-IP networking. Sitting in the middle of the PowerZone Connect 2U series, it bridges the gap between the compact 1U lineup and the flagship 3004D — offering 2Ω drive capability, bridgeable outputs up to 1000W per channel, and full-matrix DSP in a full-rack 2RU chassis.
For integrators across Africa working on mid-to-large commercial projects — conference venues, hotel ballrooms, medium-format houses of worship, retail complexes, and multi-building campuses — the PowerZone Connect 2004D provides the headroom of a serious install amplifier with Dante™ network flexibility built in. You get the same PowerZone™ Control web app, the same Pascal UMAC™ engine, and the same five-year warranty as every other model in the range, scaled to a 2000W power envelope that handles high-output zones without overspecifying your rack.
Design and Construction of the Blaze by Sonance PowerZone Connect 2004D
The PowerZone Connect 2004D shares its full-width 2RU chassis with the 3004D. Dimensions are 88 × 440 × 332 mm (3.5″ × 17.3″ × 13.1″) at a weight of 7.4 kg — identical to its higher-powered sibling. The 2U form factor provides the thermal management and power supply headroom needed for sustained high-output operation in rack-dense environments.
The output stage is built on Pascal’s UMAC™ Class-D platform — a full-bandwidth PWM modulator engineered for ultra-low distortion. Like all 2U models, the 2004D supports loads down to 2Ω in single-ended mode and offers bridge-tied load (BTL) operation for doubling voltage swing into higher-impedance loads. The UREC™ universal mains switch-mode power supply features Power Factor Correction (PFC) and an integral standby converter, accepting 100–240V AC at 50–60 Hz for worldwide deployment.
Comprehensive protection circuits guard against short circuit, DC fault, under-voltage, thermal runaway, and overload conditions. The unit is UL listed, ErP and Energy Star compliant, and includes an integrated wireless access point (WAP) for cable-free commissioning via Wi-Fi. All of this is backed by Blaze’s standard five-year warranty.
Performance and Applications for the PowerZone Connect 2004D
In single-ended Lo-Z mode, each of the four channels delivers 500W into 2Ω or 4Ω loads and 250W at 8Ω. Bridge the outputs into two channels and you get 1000W per channel into 4Ω or 8Ω — serious power for driving full-range loudspeaker cabinets, subwoofers, or column arrays in medium-to-large rooms.
In Hi-Z mode, two bridged channels each deliver 1000W at both 70V and 100V. That is enough to drive extensive distributed speaker lines with dozens of ceiling and horn speakers across long cable runs — well suited to hotel corridors, retail wings, campus buildings, and large open-plan offices.
The integrated Audinate Dante™ interface provides low-latency, lossless digital audio transport over standard Ethernet. The 2004D can receive audio streams from any Dante-enabled device — mixing consoles, DSP processors, media servers, or other Dante amplifiers — eliminating long analogue cable runs between equipment rooms and reducing signal degradation on large sites. For retrofit projects, Dante allows you to drop a networked amplifier anywhere an Ethernet connection exists.
The built-in PowerZone™ Control web app delivers the same full-matrix DSP as every other PowerZone Connect model: multizone routing, input mixing, priority and ducking for paging, restriction, parametric EQ on inputs and outputs, high-pass filtering, speaker presets, delay, sine generator, and Wall-S1 controller configuration. Audio quality is excellent — signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 106 dB (A-weighted), THD+N stays below 0.05%, and frequency response holds within +0/−0.25 dB across 20 Hz – 20 kHz into an 8Ω load.
Typical applications include conference centres, hotel ballrooms and function rooms, medium-to-large houses of worship, multi-tenant retail complexes, corporate campuses, fitness centres with high-energy zones, and education facilities with auditoriums or multi-building coverage.

Conclusion
The Blaze by Sonance PowerZone Connect 2004D occupies the practical middle ground in the 2U lineup. With 2000W across four channels, 2Ω drive capability, bridgeable outputs reaching 1000W, and integrated Dante™ networking, it delivers the kind of power and connectivity that mid-to-large commercial installations demand — without jumping to the 3004D’s higher price bracket when the extra headroom is not needed.
For integrators across Africa, the 2004D sits as the smart choice when your venue needs more than the 1U models can offer but does not require the 3004D’s full 3000W output. The identical 2U chassis, identical DSP platform, and identical five-year warranty mean you can mix 2004D and 3004D units in the same rack without workflow changes. Pair it with Blaze Ci or CBL Series loudspeakers, or any compatible 2Ω–16Ω and 70V/100V speakers, to build a high-output, Dante-networked audio system that scales with your project.
