EAW SB818
High-Output Single 18-Inch Flyable Subwoofer System
The EAW SB818 is a premium, high-output, mid-size flyable subwoofer system engineered to deliver deep, punchy low-frequency extension with the highest standard of sonic performance and reliability. Specifically designed to integrate seamlessly within the KF Series ecosystem, the SB818 serves as the definitive low-frequency companion to complete small-to-medium-format touring rigs and high-performance permanent installations.
Masterfully Engineered Enclosure & Versatile Rigging
Built for the rigors of the road and the aesthetic requirements of high-end venues, the EAW SB818 features a direct-radiating configuration housed in an optimally tuned, vented wooden enclosure. This structural architecture maximizes acoustic impact while severely mitigating cabinet distortion.
Where space is at a premium, the SB818 stands out as an ultra-flexible deployment tool. It is fully flyable and can be suspended as its own dedicated low-frequency array or flown seamlessly in the same array cluster alongside KF210 line array enclosures. Utilizing a specialized transition bar, users can easily fly subwoofers and line array elements from a single, centralized flybar and rigging point, saving invaluable roof load and setup time. For temporary events, a robust ground-stack adapter supports safe, rapid, and ultra-compact ground arrays.

Optimized Transducer Integration
At the heart of the SB818 is a top-tier, custom-developed 18-inch low-frequency transducer utilizing a heavy-duty 4-inch voice coil, meticulously optimized in collaboration with EAW engineering to squeeze out maximum acoustic performance within its footprint.
This direct-radiating monster delivers an astonishing peak output of 136 dB while maintaining deep, musical low-end control down to an impressive 25 Hz. The enclosure is built to accurately translate transient bass information with pristine clarity, preventing muddy overlapping or washiness in demanding acoustic spaces.
Smart Cabling & Proprietary Signal Optimization
-
Recessed Pin-Select Switch: To significantly cut down on visual clutter and unnecessary cabling infrastructure, the input panel includes an innovative recessed switch. This allows operators to quickly route the first or second set of Neutrik NL4 pins directly to the speaker’s internal components, simplifying multi-cabinet array daisy-chaining.
-
EAW Digital Signal Processing: The SB818 is designed to function at its absolute peak when paired with today’s advanced digital signal processors or EAW’s premium UXA4416 power amplifiers. Tailored factory presets perfect the subwoofer’s phase alignment, crossover boundaries, and low-frequency impulse response, delivering studio-monitor precision at massive venue levels.
-
Weather-Protected Configurations: To ensure long-term dependability during outdoor festival tours or harsh architectural placements, standard weather protection options are available, keeping the internal infrastructure completely secure from environmental degradation.
